When You Are Hiring a New Office Cleaner, Make Sure They Don’t Do These to You

Check Your Office Cleaning Crew

Your office is more than an address where you go to work, often times it is a large physical representation of your service or product. That being said the way your office looks to visitors is highly important. Most business people hire office cleaning crews who work after hours to make the place shine. Unfortunately, not all office maintenance or cleaning crews are the same, some are great while others will do a half way job and hope you never notice. Here are a few things to watch for when checking up on your cleaning crew.

Return Phone Calls

A huge red flag on a cleaning crew is their responsibility in returning your phone calls. This shows a lack of professionalism and is probably a good indication of their dedication to the job as well. If you cannot reach your office maintenance people it is, time to search for a new crew.

Not Fulfilling the Contract

Your office may not need cleaning every day; however, your crew should show up when they agree to. If you know or suspect they are not coming in like they said you should immediately fire them and look for new office cleaning personnel.

Bathrooms

One area you may not think too much about is your bathrooms, but do not assume that the only people seeing them are your employees. Visitors often frequent a business’s bathroom and if the area is not spotless, it will reflect badly on your business.

Check behind the toilet, this is an area that office cleaning crews may miss and over time, it will begin to have an odor. Besides this is a damp environment already prone to mold and your crew should be taking care to clean it properly.

Dusting

If you are not sure of whether your office cleaning crew is doing a good job there is one thing that will tell the tale, dust! A good crew will leave your office completely dust free even in out of the way areas. Check the following:

* Chair legs

* Window ledges

* Tops of filing cabinets

* Shelves

* Door facings- along the top

* Base boards

* Various fixtures including lights

* Blinds

* Corners

* Along ceiling

Any of these areas that are still dust covered show that your office maintenance team is slacking on the job. You should bring it to their attention once and if the habits persist look for a new service provider.

Conclusion

Office cleaning personnel should be professional in attitude and action. You are paying for a job to be done and truthfully, this is not an extremely difficult job. When you notice any of the above, you are being taken advantage of by your office maintenance crew.
