How to Clean Your Office Chair

How to Clean Your Office Chair

Debris, dirt, crumbs, coffee and spills can be a real pain to deal with, especially when they are on an office chair. It is recommended that you take the time to properly clean office chairs since they will look a lot better and your clothes will also be maintained cleaner. Many people are under the impression that in order to fully remove stains or dirt from the fabric they need to use harsh chemical products. This is not the case though; usually a dish washing product mixed with water is sufficient. With a bit of effort you’ll be able to make your office chair look like it’s new again!

Office chairs are made using various different materials and fabrics, such as synthetic materials, leather or polyester. When cleaning spots and stains, you can make a mixture of 2 table spoons of cleaning solution, such as a dish washing product for example, and a single cup of room temperature water. Be sure to stir the mix before using it. Before applying the mixture, it is also recommended that you wipe the office chair using a towel or a dry rag so that the dust is removed.

It’s very important that you don’t soak your chair completely in the cleaning solution since this isn’t required. Simply dip a clean rag into the mix and use it on the spills or stains. You should also use gentle movements to ensure that you don’t ruin the fabric. Be sure to rinse the spot with warm water after the stain is no longer observable. You should also let the fabric dry before using the office chair again. After cleaning, many people also prefer to vacuum the chair so that the remaining dirt and dust is completely removed.

To keep your office chair clean in the future, try to avoid staining it by spilling soft drinks or coffee on it. You should also wipe the stains immediately as they occur since they’ll be a lot harder to remove after they dry. It is also recommendable that you don’t put your feet on the chair and you don’t use it as a step stool. Placing markets, pens and other similar items should also be avoided. Try to make a habit out of wiping your office seat once every week so that dust and dirt won’t have a chance of collecting. Follow these simple steps and you will surely extend the life of your office chair!
